Loved the food and the service. It was every bit of French cuisine I hoped for and at very reasonable price. Staff is very attentive and made me feel welcomed. Add a few candles to the tables and background music for the atmosphere - this would be a 10/10 place. I want to eat every dish from that menu. Highly recommend: you can be healthy or naughty with your food. Not any bit pretentious. Just honest good tasty food.

The service was very good, we ordered some cheeses as a starter (which were like desserts), a foie and for the main course some steaks with potatoes, the latter were delicious.

In a small restaurant with typically French food, I mean, from the Aquitaine region and at a very fair price! I'm so happy to have found this place for lunch on our last day in Bordeaux! I strongly recommend

From our experience it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE AND DISRESPECTFUL to give less than 5 stars. We had a starter/main course/homemade dessert for €16.50 from memory. Everything was perfect, generous quantity, taste, seasoning, quality, presentation, service, speed... We told the waiter and waitress, two very pleasant young people, that we were almost ashamed of not paying more. The price does not represent the quality of the establishment. We paid with holiday vouchers and we felt guilty for only leaving a €2 tip as we had no change left.

An excellent quality/quantity/price ratio! The formula even in the evening is very appreciable. It is really good. The flank steak and home fries are very well seasoned. Don't hesitate to ask for their pepper sauce, which is also very good. The chocolate fondant is great. On top of that, super friendly staff and fast service. I recommend !

05/05/2024: Was my favorite in my trip to Bordeaux. We had the degustation menu, it was reasonably priced and delicious food!!
05/05/2024: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, great food, good value for money. We opted for the surprise menu and were very impressed by the different flavors and influences from different kitchens. You could ask for a matching glass of wine with each dish.

Au Bistrot

17/04/2024: Found Au Bistrot by chance after visiting the nearby Marche des Capucins. There was no menu outside, so decided to just risk it as it looked interesting. Very busy at 12:30, but still a couple of tables free and some seats at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Lovely warm welcome from our waitress. We decided to go for the €23 set lunch - vegetable soup (squash or pumpkin maybe?) followed by chicken with lots of vegetables - both courses absolutely delicious. Buzzing atmosphere and great fun being able to see into the kitchen area.
04/04/2024: Excellent experience!! My sister advised me to go there, and I must admit that it is excellent. Firstly you get what you pay for because the value for money is super super interesting. A starter + main course + coffee menu for €23. We had the chance to eat at the counter, I recommend it! On today's menu we had a cabbage soup with crème fraîche whipped with lemon and olive oil, exquisite! For the main course, a perfectly spiced black pudding served with seasonal vegetables. And the coffee which completes this very good experience. Very interesting restaurant that I recommend, and don't hesitate to visit the neighborhood because it is full of fabulous places.
