31/03/2024: This was the best meal we had in Paris - and with a super neighborhood-ey feel. Antonin offered unique regional dishes alongside many French classics for my partner, and were very accommodating to me being a vegetarian (which they did not need to be!). Side note - their roast potatoes are the BEST I’ve ever eaten. They made us feel at home despite being obvious foreigners and the only people in the restaurant who spoke only-English. We also got a digestif at the end of our meal and they topped us up for free.

02/04/2024: Very good little Asian restaurant to eat in the Belleville district. The prices are affordable, the portions are very generous, and everything is very tasty. I highly recommend this address, however remember to come early, the restaurant is quickly a victim of its success.

02/04/2024: I'm really shocked that a nugget like that existed without me even knowing it. A restaurant to absolutely visit and integrate into your routine. The menu is super comprehensive, the prices are more than fair and the customer service is top notch. They understand that it is the customers who do the business and they make us want to come back and bring more people to discover this unique place :) ps: try the sausage skewers, frankly they were succulent

18/03/2024: Excellent selection, a bit on the higher end of prices but they've got great merchandise. The staff was really helpful and willing to help us settle on some great choices. Strong selection of natural wines.

04/04/2024: Nicely located between Jourdain and the buttes Chaumont, Helou serves fresh and tasty Japanese food 👌 it's very good value for money 👍 and the interior is nicely decorated.

30/03/2024: Great sushi and very kind service to tourists! I can't speak for typical sushi in Paris but have had a lot of sushi in my life and can say the quality of the fish was wonderful, and the food itself was presented beautifully - will definitely be visiting the next time I'm in Paris!

28/03/2024: From the calf's brains as a starter to the sweetbreads as a main course, everything was truly delicious! Worked, with good products (and the cooking was perfect). The wine list is impressive, especially as we are very well advised. I highly recommend!

04/05/2024: Update: I had stomach cramps and diarrhea all day and again this evening and it was the only meal I ate: chicken kebab sandwich and fries with both sauces! + Chicken meat good but quantity not generous enough to appreciate the flavors, perhaps cut the pieces a little thicker + homemade fries a plus compared to other kebabs + Very careful packaging - just the paper sticks a little to the bread - Unseasoned raw vegetables, it’s a shame, a pipette with a simple vinaigrette next to the easy-to-place raw vegetable tray - the sauces for me are the weak point, the white sauce looks like mayo: make a real white sauce please Greek yogurt dried mint etc. - the bread a bit dry

04/05/2024: Great discovery, following a friend's recommendation. An excellent roast chicken in an old-fashioned atmosphere. The restaurant is very charming, and the staff welcoming. I recommend plum as a digestive. The herring as a starter is also very good.

26/04/2024: Impressive: come closer, cross the space-time gap and enjoy: nice decor, nice owners, very nice prices and very, very nice food! 👍 Well done!!! ☝️Returned in force this lunchtime (April 26, 2024) with my children: placebo effect (?) perhaps, but I found the chicken fries even better than last time 👍🙂, even if the boss jokingly tells me that it’s because today it’s fresh 😄! With that, a magnificent plate of Cantal to finish!!! Bravo again...

04/04/2024: A “slightly forgotten” setting near the Buttes Chaumont, but so warm and above all so delicious… It is always a great pleasure to come back and taste this family cuisine with the best meatballs I know in Paris and truly extraordinary beef skewers, accompanied by extra fine semolina, vegetables and obviously homemade broth, just like harissa. , strong and sweet but above all full of magnificent tastes, and of which I am forever a great fan...

25/05/2024: My partner accurately summed up this experience as "Food that tasted the way Ratatouille (film) made me feel" and I couldn't agree more. There is no menu, you simply sit down and have delicious dishes served to you as you sip wine over the course of the evening. I imagine this is what it would be like visiting family in the French countryside. Simple, tasty and relaxed. They don't speak much English and we didn't understand much French but it was a very enjoyable experience - maybe even moreso

08/05/2024: I had the pleasure and privilege of dining at Mon Oncle le Vigneron with my wife and sister-in-law this evening. I will leave a detailed review below, however the short version is, make a reservation and go to this restaurant. Immediately upon walking into the restaurant, you are made to feel at home. The decor is warm and inviting, if a little bit eclectic. Chika, the maitre d'hotel/waitress/chef is welcoming and very friendly, and makes you feel a part of the family. When we made our reservation for dinner, we were told that there are no choices of food, instead you will eat what Chika prepares for you. This was not an issue at all. We ordered a lovely bottle of rose, and settled in for the meal to come. We had a delicious charcuterie to start comprised of some prosciutto, salami, and chorizo, and a terrine of pork, all of which were lovely. Additionally there was a goat's cheese in olive oil, which went down a treat. Following the charcuterie we had a simple, but delicious endive salad with a lovely dressing. Finally, we had a delicious Basque pork dish, made up of the most incredibly tender pork, peppers, tomatoes, broth, and a side of steamed rice. It was my favorite style of food, simple things, cooked exceptionally well. Overall, the meal was incredible, a lovely space with good food. The coup de grace was the price. For 3 people to eat, and 2 bottles of wine, our price was less than 40 euros per person. It felt like such incredible value for a meal that I would have paid double for. If I lived in Paris, I would visit this restaurant once a week just to see what Chika was cooking up. If you are lucky enough to be in the area, give this restaurant a visit.
