The waitresses are smiling.
The waffle is generous, served with homemade melted chocolate. The hot lemon is accompanied by a small cup of honey.

08/05/2024: The pros: The hearty dishes prepared with quality products, the traditional setting, the spacious room, the location in the village
The -: A welcome that leaves something to be desired (you almost feel like you're annoying). Beyond the prices, certainly higher than what you can find nearby, we were more bothered by the fact that many things were extra (e.g. if you take a starter without a main course, the starter is billed to you at €21.50 instead of €12.50). For the room, impossible to touch the radiator (under penalty of being charged), fortunately we had our sleeping bags... (I specify that we did not ask to increase the temperature, a little cooled by the welcome). For the room, a kettle with a few tea bags/herbal tea would also be welcome, as well as an extra towel to dry your hands.

Good food but limited quantities on the plate and a little expensive all the same.

While passing through Les Estables, we chose this very pretty looking restaurant on the central square of the village.
The restaurant calls itself a beef restaurant. There are only two dishes offered on the menu for this evening: beef couscous and merguez and Thai-style tataki.
We find the choice limited and quite unusual for a country village like Les Estables. Certainly the restaurant offers an innovative concept by offering to eat all parts of the beef in order to fight against waste.
There is no “classic” meat and we had to take a charcuterie board for €19.50…
A good meat eater doesn't expect those.
A qualitative board certainly but too little filled for the price.
Finally for the commercial side “they arrive to pay” was misplaced, you saw that we only took you one dish without coffee, without dessert. No asking if the service went well, we would have taken the time to explain the distress.
