23/05/2024: Avant toute chose, je tiens à préciser que c’était bien la première fois que je mettais les pieds dans cet établissement, et que je ne connaissais pas son patron. En déplacement professionnel, avec mon épouse, nous logions à quelque pas de ce restaurant qui nous a été recommandé par notre hôte (coté Spa suite nord pour ne pas citer) Nous fumes accueillis par le patron, Patrick de son prénom, seul pour l’occasion à tenir l’intégralité de l’établissement (accueil, cuisine, service) suite à des absences de personnel. Autant dire que la situation ne semblait pas idyllique pour lui ! Que dire sinon que non seulement nous nous sommes régalés mais qu’en plus Patrick a été incroyable ! Nous l’avons vu tenir tous les rôles sans défaillir et « assurer à fond » ! Rien que pour cela il mériterait une médaille ! La cuisine était fabuleuse et en qualité et en quantité, sans parler de l’anchoyade d’accueil qui était à tomber par terre ! Lors de mon prochain déplacement à Marseille, je sais déjà où j’irai manger ! Et encore bravo Patrick ! Inutile de dire que je recommande à 100%

13/05/2024: This little restaurant has charming welcoming decor including a front wall of glass that was open today because of lovely weather. Handwritten menu with lots of mouthwatering choices. See photo. Prices have gone up considerably since last menu photo we saw here or on another review site. We chose the steak (entrecôte), with the supplemental side order of smashed potatoes and grilled eggplant, tomatoes, and zucchini, and grilled salmon with those sides. I’m glad we chose not to do a starter or the baked pear with syrup that I was eying on the dessert menu, because the servings were generous. We had a quarter liter of local rose wine for two people. The host was welcoming and helpful. Be prepared for people sSmoking outside on patio. We’ve seen quite a bit of smoking. He appeared to be the only one in the front, running the whole place, serving about eight tables. Spoke some English and was tolerant of my flawed French. 71 Euros for two people. We were able to park for free nearby. Many restaurants in the area were closed as it was a Monday. We were very happy with our relaxed meal at Le Barth after traveling all night and all day.
