Well Welsh sur Lille

Very generous and tasty food, also for vegetarians. Amazing spéculos biscuit mousse. The place was decorated in a personalised and vintage way. Pretty.

Very nice team, local specialties. The place can be a little noisy but it's worth it.

A nice place which deserves its title of estaminet. The welsch are more expensive than average without being unique but we ate well. I'm removing the little star because even if it's good food, it's a bit of a shame to have the salad and fries in cardboard boxes. Despite this I recommend! 👍

It was warm and friendly. We ate a very good Welsh there, and a hearty and delicious dessert.

I don't really know... it was good but I don't know, something was missing, a dose of madness, a dose of the North... I remain mixed. In addition to that, when the restaurant is full, I recommend deactivating the Apple Watch alerts regarding noise... because there is a lot of noise. The welcome was also classic, but I don’t know I was expecting something more “estaminet du Nord” The carbonade is really light in terms of meat, however. The Welsh burger lacked craziness (cheese on top) Good but not great, try again to be sure

We had made a reservation for 4, we were seated without problem etc. And the dishes arrive! Personally I was quite satisfied with my Welsh "the lover", it filled my stomach well and it was quite good. On the other hand, the other dishes at the table were less crazy... “The famous fricadelle”, two small fricadelles in a large plate stuffed with fries and salad. "La goyère (tarte) au maroilles", a quarter of a tasteless tart, it looked like an egg tart with a hint of maroilles and once again the remaining 3/4 of the plate stuffed with fries and salad “Flemish carbonnade” a small plate with (literally) 6 small pieces of meat and two spoons of sauce and fries (but the meat and sauce were pretty good, too bad it was a tiny portion). In summary, small portions compensated with too many salads and fries for a relatively high price (around €16-18 per plate anyway). It's a shame when we see most of the positive reviews... I don't think we'll come back to this estaminet. I still give 3 stars because for me it was for the quantity and the dish, but seeing the rest it's not possible, I almost felt bad for the others. And the service was a little slow but it's okay it's Friday evening the restaurant is full it's not a big deal

We are warned upon arrival that we must leave the table at 1:45 p.m. My daughter had a hamburger and it was cold inside. Passable Flemish stew and very good fries. The door is ajar, it's cold when you're near the door.

We took the group menu. He didn't have much choice and I was disappointed with my carbonnade..."bourbignon", nothing special as I expected.
