Some overplay the outdated side and others, on the contrary, offer us a journey back in time. L’épi d’or succeeds in its challenge of making us relive a time when the menu consisted of a few simple but well-executed and generous dishes. It's a Parisian price but it's worth it if you don't mind paying a little for authenticity.

Was recommended by a French friend to dine here and was not disappointed. Had the 3-course lunch menu of the day and it was exquisite. As was the service and the restaurant itself. Don’t be put off by the sometimes harsh reviews on here - I don’t believe they are justified. Best meal I’ve had in Paris to date and will be dining here as many times as I can before I need to leave. I had my baby daughter with me in her stroller and they accommodated her - as well as my parents, who arrived after I had already ordered! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Very nice place, which conveys the typical Parisian atmosphere. Tables stuck together and 50s furnishings. A little too noisy but still very pleasant. Quite sophisticated dishes. Tartare a little too oniony. Prices not exaggerated

In a dark room where people stand shoulder to shoulder, simple dishes, sometimes subpar, are charged at full price and in mini portions.
Asparagus, almost dwarf, taken out of the fridge on a base of stracciatella (26 euros all the same!), a fish and ships, where the fish (a little overcooked) is presented in several pieces (to put more breading than fish?) accompanied by mayonnaise (and not herb tartar sauce!) in a pot one-third full.
Strogonoff sauce tab also presented in pieces, just to better spread the thin portion of meat, sauce a little sweet... Fries and Tatin tart, otherwise perfect, which makes up for it a little...
Weak service (not really aware of what is served), ungenerous cuisine and a mediocre starter at 26 euros, uh... how can I put it... we've had better inspired Piège!
Would I go back? No thanks…

In its juice this restaurant. There is taste, good products. A little extra on the citrus fennel salad on a bed of buffala.

An interesting experience, delicious food, although it was difficult to choose because there was no menu in English. the staff were polite and I talked about the dishes. It was a bit lacking in cleanliness.
