29/03/2024: In the summer of 2023, my daughters and I were traveling to Milan from Geneva and had a train transfer to Chambéry. Unknown to us, there were no trains to Milan due to a recent landslide. We only discovered this upon arrival in Chambéry. Despite attempting to rent a car and exploring flight options, we found ourselves stranded in Chambéry on a Saturday morning with limited breakfast choices.
In our search for car rentals and a mood-lifting breakfast, we stumbled upon a quaint little restaurant. The owner, sensing our despair, promptly brought us water and bread as we used the menu. Despite the language barrier—us not speaking French and the owner not speaking English—we conveyed our hunger and willingness to try anything he recommended. Ten minutes later, he presented us with a delicious meat and cheese spread accompanied by fresh vegetables and bread, a dish not even listed on the menu. Touched by his kindness, hospitality, and genuine compassion (despite our communication struggles), we left the establishment with full hearts and bellies. What began as a disappointing situation turned into a heartwarming experience. Finally, after a long day of travel, we reached Milan.
Thank you so much! We won't forget your kindness and the laughter shared during our meal!

Looking for a car rental and breakfast to cheer us up, we came across a lovely little restaurant. The owner, sensing our desperation, immediately brought us water and bread while we perused the menu.
