le Canon sur Nice

While passing through Nice we were lucky enough to come across this restaurant. Wine, welcoming atmosphere and above all excellent cuisine. Local and quality product. The chef explains his dishes with passion. He had the rare gesture of offering us a drink at the end of the meal. In short, we highly recommend this place.

Excellent cuisine and very good service. Unfortunately; place a little too noisy, too lit and not comfortable enough (narrow tables, small chairs and bistro benches uncomfortable for a two-hour meal) to be able to enjoy the tasting. In the photo, the pavlova with orange sauce. A soft meringue. Excellent.

As good as it is beautiful. Local, fresh, original, tasty products. I loved ! The choice of wines was perfect... Bravo and thank you!

Very nice evening at Canon, warm welcome, relaxed atmosphere and very good quality products on the plate and in the glass. I recommend !

A little expensive for what it is. Acceptable place to go from time to time.

----RATING REVISED DOWNWARDS IN 2024---- A dubious mustachioed employee, who limits himself to repeating, to the comma, what is written on the board (it must be the famous "audio description for the visually impaired"), who very quickly lets himself be overwhelmed even when the restaurant is not full ... The philosophy, local and refined cuisine at a high price. A warm and bohemian atmosphere. We regret that digestives are not offered for a table at €300 (especially when it is the mustachioed employee who offers them); not commercial for a penny, too bad.

On sent que la déco n’est pas la préoccupation première du chef ! On lui pardonne volontiers, car sa cuisine est délicieuse et on nous a servi un vin au verre parfait. Carte resserrée, c’est un gage de qualité. Et les amateurs de vins s’y régaleront en suivant les conseils prodigués.

Nous avions très envie de découvrir ce resto et notamment pour la carte des vins. Les serveurs ne devaient pas être dans un bon mood ce soir. Accueil assez expéditif et manquant de plaisir (la fatigue d’après Noël, sans doute). Bonne proposition de vins natures. Et plats de bonne qualité, plus sophistiqués sur la carte que dans l’assiette. Prix adaptés à la qualité un peu moins à la quantité.

Le plus dur? Faire son choix sut une ardoise qui met l'imaginaire de nos sens en ébullition ... Dans l'assiette ... Et dans le verre... Go go go...
