La Gargouille sur Rodez

Entering this La Gargouille restaurant at random, we were delighted with the welcome, the service and especially the offerings of the day. We only ordered two starters and one dessert each: Pea soup with croutons, ham and an old Aveyron cheese used like parmesan Brioche sausage with a light Port sauce For desserts, it was to each their own: Semi-cooked chocolate and pear clafoutis We drank a glass of red Marcillac, very tannic and full of aromas. Excellent lunch in a family atmosphere. The price? I don't know, it was the right price and well deserved anyway. Don’t hesitate to come and discover this delicious place to delight your taste buds.

Food is ok. The service is also very good. However, the main dishes are a bit pricey for being so basic and rustic, which affects the value for money.

Delicious !! We had a blast! The vegetarian plate was really excellent. A mixture of lots of flavors and textures. Which is rare to find a dish so well cooked without meat. Well done !!

"Pilopied" of the Cathedral on its North side (?) The "Gargoyle" had the right tone to kindly welcome me, me who is alone and monopolizes a table of 2 (obviously😏) ". A relaxed and classy welcome under the tone of Pastels and a table found in 5 minutes. After a brief but appreciable explanation of the different choices, the order is taken. Barely enough time to remember that the weather is nice and that we are here between light and shadow, when the dish, accompanied by a bowl of salad made with fresh vegetables and a small individual gratin, arrives. The plate itself is originally decorated, recalling why not the bluish floor of an old rigging from yesteryear. The decor is fine, classy and thoughtful without falling into a deceptive flashiness. Everything is there to flatter the senses, without false pretenses. The beautiful piece of perfectly cooked tuna is surrounded by peas that seem to have fallen apart. The few herbs present that have come to cling to these providential rocks have the good taste of having it just and without bitterness. I forgive him an excess of fleur de sel and give him the merit of reminding me where he comes from. Sometimes, the tip of the knife, provided it has wandered in the right place, drags cream and anette between his teeth. The surprise is delicious. My crumble is good without revolutionizing the genre. The rare nuts are a nice surprise, however, which don't make you forget that it's too hot and not crispy enough.... CRUNCHY as hell! And it's a shame because the crumble cookie is really good. To my taste and it only concerns me: salad dressing to review. It gives the salad a "canteen" feel (which you're definitely not). Watch out for the fleur de sel on the tuna... A few less petals in my case. Thank you gentlemen, everyone

Succulent meal, delicious local meat with exceptional taste. The chef gave us good advice. Super friendly atmosphere. Very pleasant and attentive staff. I recommend this restaurant a thousand times. If we go through there again we will definitely come back. Signed Toulouse.

OK but too expensive for what you eat there

A cook who can work in gastronomy! friendly and very professional waiters, the young waiter is very pleasant and professional too. The dishes are tasty with different textures and very popular. Very good red and rose wine. Thank you BRAVO!!
