Excellent food. Very friendly cook. We had an amazing beef dish. The ambiance was nice and romantic. The price was very fair for what you get. We highly recommend eating here.

What can I say, apart from the fact that we had a very nice evening at LA GARGOTTE. An atypical setting for this Lyon restaurant, excellent cuisine and top-notch service. Nothing to say, just that we will come back very soon.

The location in the heart of Lyon is ideal! The decoration and service are careful and the quality/price ratio is excellent. The place to go for a meal with family or colleagues.

We booked at La Gargotte for a birthday and had a wonderful evening. The welcome, the service, the meal, the atmosphere: everything was excellent. Special mention for the chef who came out of his kitchen to look around the tables and see if everything went well. We will come back with pleasure.

It’s hard to rise above average in Lyon, and though La Gargotte may have done it at some point, we certainly weren’t there to experience it at its best. We were greeted by a staff member that talked way louder than necessary. A minute later a waitress opened the wrong bottle of wine. The food was served cold. And at the end of the meal an altercation between the staff and a table next to ours just brought down the experience to an even lower level. A memorable experience, but only for the wrong reasons.

01/04/2024: I've been there twice and both my experiences were perfect. Quick and friendly welcome. The fact of paying for game access only once and having access to it all evening is very nice (unlike game bars where you pay by the hour).

02/04/2024: Exceptional! Do not trust negative reviews which only reflect overly personal experiences. We went there on Sunday March 31 at the end of the service, we were welcomed "like at home" as if we were regulars, the owners Nanou and Franck were fond of us, the retro atmosphere of the place and the music took us on a journey, far from the Lounge Chillout music that we are used to listening to. The dishes offered are authentic from a real "Bouchon Lyonnais", they were well served and very good. They accompanied us throughout the meal, and were attentive to us. We will definitely come back there during our next stay in Lyon to introduce our friends to this place and thank Nanou and Franck very warmly again for this time with them.
01/04/2024: Easter week end. We were looking for a restaurant after 10 p.m..... Not easy. However, Nanou and Franck welcomed us with open arms. What a great idea. Charming, super friendly and welcoming people. Be careful, place reserved for bon vivants!!! Here, we eat well (healthy enthusiasts, go your way), we drink well, we have fun, we chat, we meet new people... All this in an atmosphere like at home. Thank you Nanou for saving us from the waters and making us so warmly welcome, thank you Franck for the delicious cuisine. Stay as you are, real people. We love it and recommend +++!!!
