A solid Parisian bistro serving both locals and the tourist crowd. When we were last there during the Easter break, American English was the main background language with some German, French and Russian too. The dishes are not fancy but decent enough. Your quintessential onion soup, escargot, duck confit and steak frites are all there.

Wanted to purchase bottle of wine on the terrace, but was told we could only order a glass….obviously to keep us from lingering. Not very Parisian of you…..

Questionable service, was initially friendly but turned cold after the waiter served me a wrong dish and i sent it back. Waitor who took our order seemed to have spoken english well and repeated some other table (caucasian people) orders but got my order (asian english speaking) wrong and was not too happy about it after i raised the issue.
Dropped my fork accidentally as the table was small and they picked it up but didnt bother to pass me a new fork, had to grab it from the next table.
Supreme chicken with risotto was mid, could not eat more than 3 bites of the risotto as it was unpalatable for me. Escargots were okay not great not bad.

We arrived in Paris late, so lunchtime was also late. So we didn't want to eat much either, because it came together with dinner.
We were 6 people and we ordered 5 dishes, which the waiter rejected and demanded that we order one more dish, which was the restaurant's norm. 1 dish per person.
We asked for it, it doesn't matter, we were on vacation and we weren't going to argue in a language we don't speak. But it's ugly, it must be said. They saw us with the face of tourists who only speak Spanish and they scammed us.

Bistrot d'excellent rapport qualité-prix au cœur du 2e arrondissement de Paris... Des plats traditionnels très bien exécutés, un service souriant et efficace, des assiettes copieuses et une carte des vins sympathique...
Voilà un joli déjeuner dominical réussi !
