au pizzaiolo sur Nice

20/05/2024: A big Bravo to the pianist, beautiful music, it sets the mood, the pizzas are good, but the two desserts are indigestible and 10 euros per dessert, almost as expensive as any pizza! and 4 euros per coffee, higher price than in some 4-star hotels! Fortunately there is the pianist and the welcoming boss.

26/04/2024: On a day of pouring rain we slipped into this place just because it was the first one available. Experience with mixed sensations. Excellent baked salmon, served with french fries. However, the so-called "saffron risotto" (overcooked) is terrible. Friendly owner... but the feeling was that he was trying to "bring grist to his mill" at every opportunity: we choose a wine from those on the menu (exaggerated prices for wines in a carafe!) and he tries to divert us to another choice because, he says "this is not good"; we order the saffron risotto and he insists that the risotto should be accompanied with something, like meat. Prices: half a liter of white wine in a carafe (Tavernello quality: he was right about this... but he put it on the menu): 18 euros; a bottle of sparkling water: 9 euros; a coffee: 2.50 euros. Strangely, however, the salmon was only 12 euros because it was "dish of the day". We ate under a tent soaked in water to the point of dripping on our heads. Final gem: one of the waiters kept walking around us humming Italian songs like Bello Figo...
