We have tasted several Basque cakes since our arrival in the region, these are the best we have tasted (with cream and chocolate), what a delight! The bread is just as good, we recommend!

Pleasant shop with welcoming staff. A small hint of disappointment on the Basque Gateau which has an almond taste with almond powder and no light rum cream. The cake was good, it is important to say, but sweeter. I was looking for a real Basque cake so I was disappointed... we have almond specialties in my region... I wasn't looking for that at all. In short, for an authentic Basque cake recipe it's not here but it's still good. Whatever anyone says, it didn't smell like rum enough unlike others tasted but that doesn't change my rating

Very nice, friendly place. Good mood, nice welcome. Quality sweet and savory dishes. Intergenerational meeting place. Note the charitable involvement of the owner. Bravo for the evenings and everyone’s enthusiasm.

When I ask for a vegetarian product, the saleswoman tells me the ham croissant... so I can give the ham to others. And it wasn't a joke. Very long wait, salespeople busy talking among themselves, the panini requested suffered the cost (we got it charred) and it's also a shame to reheat other products in the microwave, especially if it's truly handmade.. Very nice bakery, lots of products, but the atmosphere gives the impression of being in a factory place.

Very nice window, I had an excellent baguette and a very good hunter's bread too. Tomorrow morning, we'll go get croissants. Choice of snacks too and Basque cakes make us want to buy some to bring back

While passing through, we made the Fournil de la Licorne our HQ in Bidart, allowing us to taste practically every type of product on offer! First of all, it might be stupid, but I appreciated that the staff didn't handle the money. Some people may not understand. But for me it's a real plus in terms of health, especially when we mix so many people like them. Then, let's talk essential: the quiches are amazing, the bread too, the Basque cakes too. A little disappointment though with the croissants. When you get up early on a Sunday to get 4 at 8 a.m., and there's only one left and it's soft and cold... Well... how can I put it... it's frustrating. Especially since I was waiting for the extra buttery traditional puff pastry that I imagined compared to the rewards. The real surprise for me is the Unicorn roll. A croissant base filled with vanilla cream with a chocolate almond shell. I hesitated...I took one. I said to myself “mmmh prepare yourself for something heavy, which will weigh down your mouth and stomach in two bites”. Well no! Lots of taste, balance, and refinement. Really very good and above all original for once. Come on, I'll come back and get one before leaving.
