Tonton Louis sur La Rochelle

26/05/2024: Very beautiful Mercure recently tastefully renovated. Perfect welcome – very nice room (privilege with balcony) and good value for money for the services (quality of the bedding for example) and a city like La Rochelle. Effective WiFi. This was my 3rd Accor hotel in 1 month and the connection is identical everywhere and super easy with no fuss. Good point for the group. Another good point is the possibility of having free fresh water (still or sparkling) from a fountain on each floor. One note though regarding the privilege rooms with balcony. Very pleasant during the day with the sun in the afternoon and a beautiful terrace but noisy at night. (We stayed there 2 nights 5 days apart and this was the case each time). Don't expect to sleep with an open window with hordes of young people returning from the docks in the middle of the night and making noise outside your room. Mercury doesn't know how to do much about this, but you might as well know before choosing your type of room. It might be better to take a room facing the back and not on the side of the Quai Louis Prunier. It's up to you between the view - the terrace and the sun during the day and a little peace and quiet at night unless you sleep with the window closed with the air conditioning.
