It's a pleasure to eat at the Empire du 8ème at lunchtime, the new menu from a new chef is excellent, the dishes are refined and tasty, the daily menus are exceptional, I really recommend them. The service is quality.

Excellent food, felt really packed in and a bit claustrophobic

Very good restaurant. The prawn risotto was excellent, and so were the starters and desserts. Friendly server and calm atmosphere. Recommended!

Came for a birthday, we were more than 10 people. Our reservation was for 9:30 p.m. but we were seated after 10 p.m. (tables not ready because previous customers were still there). No group menu being offered (one of us knew the manager of the place) we all chose according to our desires which, I admit, is difficult to manage for the staff. This would have more than justified the slight disorganization but especially the waiting time for the dishes. (It would have been necessary to divide the table and have 2 servers to manage it) Unfortunately, the waitress in charge of our table was haughty, judgmental and distressingly condescending. When ordering, when we told her that we didn't all want an entry, she responded unpleasantly. “ah, you don’t take an entry?”... Come meal time, I had my meat without my accompaniment.. After waiting about twenty minutes, I asked the waitress for my side dish and she informed me that it was coming. Another ten minutes later, not seeing them arrive, I get up annoyed and ask for my fried vegetables again. She came back annoyed herself, telling me that there was a wait in the kitchen but that it was happening. I tell her that my meat is now cold with the wait she responds dryly "and? you want me to warm it up for you" I tell her that I would like her to send this plate back to the kitchen and bring me my plate and my side dish at the same time. She complies, very exasperated. Comes back 10 minutes later, casually setting down my plate (which was no longer presented... the sauce was overflowing from the edges... Being reheated and not reprepared, it was quite dry. Distressing.) and my vegetables (no dressing. I even wondered how I could have waited so long for this pan which was in a simple small bowl). I had the duck confit. It was therefore not tender since it was roughly reheated. The crust was not crispy. What a pity. The sea bream ceviche was okay, the citrus aroma was not balanced enough. Too strong in the mouth which masked the flavor of the sea bream. Not even a look, nor an apology from the waitress when she brought me my plate. The rest of the meal, I was stared at. When I spoke with this young woman at the end for her, there were no problems and no excuses. I was haughty myself and I myself must review my attitude. What audacity ! So ma'am, when you work in a sector with customers, although I do not subscribe to this famous "the customer is king", there is a respect and an attitude to be had towards them. No, ma'am, we don't judge orders. When the customer asks a question, they are not answered in such a casual and unpleasant way. And above all, we question ourselves when a customer is unhappy. When you choose to work in a restaurant in the 8th arrondissement, you pay attention to details. Review your servers or your waiters. This semi-gastronomic restaurant is clearly not worth its prices. They are only justified by their location in the 8th. Nor the cuisine (absolutely not transcended by the flavors, an unelaborated presentation, a wine list that does not match the dishes, the bread does not arrive slightly warm and crispy. Not even a little sauce to accompany it. Yes, this such details are important in a semi-gastronomic restaurant. Decent cocktails but not very tasty) and clearly the service does not deserve so many stars and positive reviews. Do a few things for the midges that disturb the meal. For me, it is a standard place for the Parisian 'have you seen' sphere with an undemanding palate. It's a disappointment for a very high bill at the end. I do not recommend and would not return.
