My visit to the Manoir de Rétival was already three days ago, but the magic still works. I too could praise the exquisite dishes, the perfect pairings between food and wine, and the unique sensations that delighted my taste buds. However, these few hours spent in the mansion's kitchen represent much more. What I particularly appreciated was the proximity, simplicity and authenticity that emanate from this place. The places are magnificent, with a colorful and warm decoration which transports us in turn into the atmosphere of our ancestors and exotic and colorful landscapes. Many utensils and tableware are still in use, the spices in the jars are on display. When I entered the kitchen, I discovered a team around the stove that was calm, focused, but also smiling and friendly. It was like entering a very privileged setting where you quickly felt at ease. The young team is eager to share its art and knowledge in an authentic and generous way. During this lunch, three generations (from 13 to 47 years old) and two different nationalities were present; all were fulfilled. I leave with the magic of Rétival, taking with me to the chef's country of origin a precious memory that I in turn wish to share and spread. I highly recommend this place where you don't just taste exceptional dishes, but where you truly experience a timeless moment that gives back taste to what you have sometimes forgotten.

It was outstanding! We ate in the kitchen on two evenings. The menus were terrific. The service perfect. The boss was always present and explained the menu in detail. Great, relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful ambience.

I had the honor of eating here recently, with space in the kitchen. All courses with perfectly matching wines are served to you by the chefs themselves in a really simply inviting atmosphere that resembles home. Especially with the chef, who is German by birth, there were hardly any language problems. Finally, I just want to say that it was a wonderful lunch and everyone should really stop by. And thanks to the entire team, you were great.
