The food and service were pretty good. The variety of escargot was a highlight of the visit. The oysters were large, and the pan-fried foie gras had a rich taste. Both the steak and duck breast for the main course were very good.
The surrounding area is nice for a walk, which is a plus for visiting the restaurant.

The snails are excellent and definitely worth it! On the other hand, the dishes are ordinary and not worth the price displayed.

The snails were definitely worth trying. Rubbery steak, but otherwise, everything was great. The condescending waiter was a bummer, but service was solid.

Such a beautiful, bustling, classy but friendly place to spend an evening. Gorgeous lighting, really nice seating ( not too cramped like in many French restaurants)
Fabulous staff, cocktails and food
Thank you x

L'Escargot Montorgueil is a historic gem in the heart of Paris that has opened its doors since 1832. Located on the lively and charming Rue Montorgueil, this restaurant has hosted famous personalities such as Marcel Proust, Pablo Picasso and Charlie Chaplin over the years.
The restaurant is known for its Escargots de Bourgogne, prepared using a traditional recipe that has remained unchanged since its inception. The interior of L'Escargot Montorgueil transports guests to another time with its Second Empire decor, elegant woodwork and a ceiling painted by Pierre-Eugène Clairin, creating a warm and timeless atmosphere.
During our visit we enjoyed the delicious snails, which were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The dish reflected the high quality and culinary expertise the restaurant is known for. The atmosphere was rich in history and made our meal an unforgettable experience. The service was exemplary and contributed significantly to the overall experience. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, which further increased our appreciation for the dishes served.
L'Escargot Montorgueil is worth every euro. The combination of excellent cuisine, historic charm and impeccable service makes it a must for every visitor to Paris.
