Passing through for a short stay in La Bouille. We chose the Saint Pierre restaurant, an excellent choice! The meal was delicious from start to finish. The service was also of high quality, thank you for this pleasant moment. We recommend and will not hesitate to come back!

We came two years ago with the memory of a pleasant address, careful cuisine and a cozy atmosphere. What a disappointment to be installed on the first floor in a room where the absence of heating (boiler failure) was not enough to offer cancellation to customers, including those who had reserved. The room was crowded and the team was poorly supervised but dynamic and keen to do well. Fortunately, the kindness of the team of waiters managed to relax the icy atmosphere: explanations, apologies, little touches...all in front of an inert owner, unable to look around the room, taking refuge in the back office, visibly unfit to manage a willing but overwhelmed team that he didn't deserve that day. The addition of €390 for four people often begins to raise particular expectations among the customer. We are still quite far from it here. The cuisine remains bourgeois but without any particular inspiration, the cooking is mastered but the rack of lamb contains far too much fat to justify putting it on the plate. She would also have deserved a polite, even courteous, greeting from the owner who stayed away from the cash register where I distributed a deserved tip to his team. I imagine that bottles priced over €180 are commonly taken out of the cellar? Finally installed near the hearth on the ground floor thanks to attentive staff, we were able to entrust one of us with the task of reloading the logs, the owner having only made a furtive incursion in order to place a single piece of wood there before slipping away, undoubtedly frightened by the idea of ​​having to face frozen or hungry customers. Two hours and 10 minutes after sitting down, the main course, finally served, was quickly forgotten. No beef fillet available, nor profiteroles, these undoubtedly succulent dishes had not resisted the order of a group of 20 people, seated a few minutes before us. We are surprised that such a professional, as he likes to describe himself, could make the basic error of welcoming a group without a meal negotiated in advance, the only method allowing food orders to be properly managed. , production time and room management. What can I say, except that the owner must take control of himself, in order to live up to the expectations of his team and his customers. Perhaps we will come back to see it.

Hesitant after some recent negative reviews, we absolutely do not regret having walked through the door of the St Pierre. Practical question: no ambiguity with the menu, either the starter + main course + dessert menu, or the dishes from the à la carte menu with their price. In terms of tasting, the cuisine is classic and well executed, the different dishes chosen delighted us all; special mention for the sweet avocado dessert which is worth the discovery. And special price for the waitress, very friendly and helpful, who contributes to the good time spent in the restaurant. Good value for money overall, we recommend.
