Le Rabelais sur Saint-Chamas

D'abord le cadre : des voûtes invitant à l'intime, ensuite l'accueil très arrangeant et chaleureux enfin le menu (celui à 37€) qui allie le beau et le bon depuis l'entrée jusqu'au dessert. De bons conseils pour le vin... Tous les ingrédients pour une soirée en couple réussie et mémorable. La lecture de certains commentaires anciens a pu nous faire hésiter, nous n'avons rien vu/vécu qui ait pu nous les justifier. Nous reviendrons si possible et recommandons ce lieu sans aucune réserve !

I admit I was perhaps expecting a lot since it was recommended in the Michelin guide but I was somewhat disappointed. The welcome was warm and the service smooth. The appetizers, delicious, were not presented and my husband who is allergic to fish almost ate herring luckily I took the trouble to ask what it was before tasting. The starters (scallops and foie gras) were good but unsurprisingly without another word coming to us once finished it was "Mouais". As for the dishes, the meat was cooked perfectly and the piece was excellent, but the scallops were, sorry to say, tasteless, lacking in seasoning and lacking in taste. The cheese selection was perfect. The best part of this meal was the desserts even if too sweet it was a real delight between the pavlova and the tart our taste buds were able to finish on a good taste note. My husband and I love discovering new gourmet restaurants. I have had many experiences, either exceptional or disappointing, our experience at Rabelais did not make us want to return there one day.

In a friendly and historic setting, we have the joy of discovering inventive, tasty cuisine with many local influences. We are cut off from the world without a network or WiFi. Good or bad, it's up to everyone to appreciate. The menu dishes are balanced in their choices and allow us to offer very reasonable prices given their superb quality. Thank you and well done.
